Why do you refuse to give Amazon your money? (Genuinely curious, I hear a lot of bad stuff about various huge corporations, and I haven't heard anything in particular about Amazon, and I rarely buy stuff on it myself)

An order I placed was shipped to the wrong address. Even after sending them a copy of the original order with the correct address, they refused to re-ship my item or refund my money.

Was it actually Amazon proper you bought from, or a third-party vendor? I've had to have things re-shipped from Amazon before because they vanished in transit somewhere, and I've never had any trouble, but Random Asshole #795's Amazon storefront is always a crapshoot.

I can't remember, since it was years ago. But I've refused to shop at Amazon ever since.

Adding my two cents as someone who also boycotts Amazon: In its form of Amazon Germany, it has been critised here for various shady dealings circumventing labour laws which results in it paying its employees vastly below trade union standard wages (and disregarding some other labour law provisions, too, iirc). I actually have no idea if it's gotten better now that we have a minimum wage as that was a few years back but I've refused buying anything from it since. (I use another site for my e-books needs and try buying physical books locally whenever possible.)
