If gay men are reclaiming it then they are using its affirmation of still being men as the point of it. That means it is a double insult for trans-women. An insult from the original bigots, and now an insult for their fellow LGBT spectrum campaigners. And vice versa, since if trans women reclaimed it then it is an affirmation of a lack of masculinity which is an insult to the gay men.

That is why you got to be careful about reclaiming, because you will probably really only be compounding the insult and stereotype most of the time. It is better to fight for an abolition of a term than to fight to "reclaim" it.
