Which characters in your fandoms are directly or indirectly cursed with this? Any notable examples of chronic sudden love interest death syndrome?

Not really. It's probably not above 50% even if you don't count Souless!Sam's endless string of hookups. Which certainly isn't good, but also isn't 'everyone'.

Just stay away from the Justice League and their affiliates in general. Your likelihood of death, insanity, suddenly becoming evil, and/or being retconned out of existence will go down dramatically.

Emma Swan. I don't even ship her with anyone, except in an "anyone but her current love interest" kind of way, and I wish said current love interest would fucking stay dead. I'd gladly take Graham (RIP), Neal (RIP), or even Walsh (RIP) the former flying monkey, over her swain du jour, who seems to have become the love of her life by being the last man standing, even though he's a monstrous fucking douche. Seriously, anyone else, please. Lily. Mulan. Elsa. Anton was sweet. Archie. Jefferson. Regina, even if the show needs to address what she did to Graham before I'm comfortable pairing her up romantically. Even (winces) August. Just not Hook.

Oh gosh. There are some exceptions, but comic book Matt Murdock. I'm still not convinced that characters like Nyla and Dakota haven't been killed off-panel without a mention....
