Silmarillion, hands down. I love it. Everyone dies, sometimes horribly. The bad guys are into torture. Their minions were created by torture. Their home is basically hell. And everyone suffers over and over again, often because of things they themselves have done. And woven into the entire story is the idea that no matter what momentary victories characters have, they can't win. They can't beat the villains. Evil is going to triumph right until the very end.

It may be less graphic, but I actually think the Silmarillion is darker than Martin and Goodkind combined.
