Thiiiiiiis. It has the same hit rate, for the same reasons, as psychic reading. Because it's the same process.

Don't believe me? That's because of who you are. You're a mess of contradictions. You put on a facade when dealing with other people, but only those closest to you know how much self-doubt plagues you in private. You have a hard time letting other people get close to you, probably because you've been hurt in the past, but once someone's inside your boundaries you'd defend them to the death. Somewhere in your house or apartment, there's a box or drawer filled with electrical cords and adapters, some of them for appliances you don't even own any longer. You have a creative outlet, artistic or literary, that's deeply important to you, but which you don't share with others casually.

Bam, you got profiled!

(Anonymous) 2016-05-03 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Er, no. That's not profiling. Profiling is more like looking at a crime scene and noting something like...

The body has eighteen stab wounds, but there's no sign of blood or a struggle so there's a good chance this is not the murder scene, but a body dump. Since the location is in the desert two miles from the main road, this suggests that the murderer may have access to a vehicle, something that can handle rough terrain like a jeep, etc.

What you're doing is horoscope stuff.

Holy shit, are you wrong. What you're describing is forensic deduction. Profiling IS horoscope stuff. Learn what words mean.
