It attracts wasps when it blooms. LOTS and LOTS of wasps.

I don't actually have a problem with it myself, but I have to account for the fact that there are a lot of bitty kids running around here.

Supposedly fennel is a bad companion for other plants. On the other hand, it also attracts beneficial insects and repels aphids.

speaking of pleasant things, how's the Shitcat? How does he like your garden?

Shitcat is a strictly indoor beast. Because I am a responsible owner and there is a lot of FIV and such out there.

Also because I like the songbird population the way it is.

Good on you. I've thought of giving mine some supervised outdoor time in the garden, but yeah, FIV is a problem; I'm pretty sure there are ferals in our neighborhood. Plus, if he took it into his head to climb a tree or run away (or if he got hold of a bird), what would I do then?
