My all time favorite is The Razor's Edge by W. Somerset Maugham. I read it when I was pretty young, like around 15-16, and it had a major impact on me. Pretty much changed the way I saw the world in that it took the values and morals that I had been raised with and put them in an order that made sense to me. So it taught me that my ultimate goal was to search for happiness and peacefulness instead of worrying about social climbing and goals that are only monetary. If I could call Maugham and thank him, I would.
