I don't get what the issue is. Isn't his voice actor white?

Assuming you haven't seen the film...

Basically the film is about prejudices and in the context of the film he's a minority that is viewed in a stereotyped fashion by others.

As a result people on Tumblr tend to fancast him as a black person or other minority and a few people have gotten upset if others depict him as being a white person.

People have been butthurt that Judy is sometimes depicted as white even though one could easily argue that the prejudices she faces are A.) because she's a girl and B.) because she comes from a yokel community over anything regarding her race.

I get that, but I don't feel it's weird to cast him as a white person so long as he's still in a stereotyped group. Like white-hispanic, or white-jewish, white-eastern european, or white urban poor. Straight up average white guy I see the issue with, but there are stereotyped groups within there too.
