I have not seen this movie, but from the dress, expression and facial expression this screams "white dude at office" to me.

He's a con man (well, con fox). Looking like a respectable office worker plays into his gimmick.

And honestly, I get the annoyance of people defaulting to white when they draw humanized versions of characters, but in this case it makes sense as a progressive choice. If you look at "anthro character who has spent much of his life as a shady, dishonest street criminal" and your instinct is to see him as black/Hispanic/Native, that's a little winceworthy.

Agreed, and it's not like poor white people don't get stereotyped. Certainly poor black and hispanic people get stereotyped harder, but uneducated white urban criminal is a common one too.
