Sorry! I didn't realize the tone came across as snippy, I meant it as I was agreeing with you in wondering if OP meant as in they thought they were a bad driver or they didn't have a license/permit.

I've never gotten a license. My health issues have interfered, although I had a permit twice, and am hoping to try again soon...

You can do it, anon! I had to give up my license for over a year because my health was so bad that I had a few scares where I almost passed out at the wheel, and I was worried about causing an accident.
