31: It's not so strange to think such a thing. A feminist is what you believe politically. As my psychology professor says, "All bets are off in the bedroom."

37: It's kind of funny, because most people that bring up multiple personality disorder in the pop culture way haven't stayed in the loop long enough to know that it's called dissociative identity disorder now. Also, most people with DID were sexually abused in late childhood or early adolescence.

I hope I didn't just give someone a fanfic prompt, there.

43: Please tell the truth sooner rather than later. Lying creates undue amounts of anxiety, and there is no shame in being female.

53: I know where you're coming from. It sounds a bit like a reinforcement syndrome. "See? I have all of these things that are exciting. Aren't I a great culture?" Japan is very progressive and good in many ways, but it's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination.

It's fine to like a country or an area as long as one has all the facts. I'm not sure most Japanophiles have that information.

68: I get the feeling that people do this with Japanese much more often than they do it with other languages. Not sure why.

I think it's because there's a lot of East Asians for which Japanese is very similar to their language and hence they'd rather revert to speaking broken Japanese than broken English (hey, Japanese is more Authentic anyway) And then everyone else doesn't want to look like they don't know any.

I dunno, for entertainment that is primarily in some other language there's usually less of that "I gotta show off" attitude...? Maybe fans of Japanese stuff find Japanese cooler than fans of Spanish shows find Spanish, perhaps. o_o
