Frankly, it's not like I'm even a particularly huge fan of the show (in the end it wasn't exactly my kind of thing, although I really enjoyed watching Hatchobori's character (;_;) and died several times thanks to Ginjiro, plus the OST was excellent.)

But it's sad that a fun show like this is so overlooked - maybe because of the aesthetics, like it was with me before :( I'm sure if this had a manga first it'd be more popular, or something... there's worse shows out there with more popularity, obviously...

I loved every (non-'filler') bit of it, but I can understand that. The main draws of it (for me anyway) were the characters themselves less than what was actually going on - I actually really didn't like what I had read in a plot synopsis but a friend of mine kept egging me on. Eventually, I grew incredibly fond of Akai (And semi freaked out at the end even though it was a very appropriate and proper fate ;o;) and, well, yeah, everything you said.

I don't really know why it didn't catch on. I figured its being a relative of Gurren Lagann would win it some attention, but, well, it didn't. Which makes me kind of sad because it's easily one of my favorite recent releases. The only way I learned about it is through a friend who tries to dig up the most obscure series he can find and recommend the living daylights out of them.
