[good mythical morning]

It bothers me when males being sexualized is played as a joke. Way to show who the intended audience is. Like, did you know women have sex drives too? And that gay men exist?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-12 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
It wasn't that kind of joke, dearie.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-13 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Yes it was, airhead.

Thanks for erasing lesbians in that statement.

Oh for fucks sake. One person not acknowledging you doesn't mean you don't exist.

I think it's more that dreadfully unattractive males being shown in a "sexy" light is played as a joke. Like, swap those geeks out for a hemsworth, and no-one is laughing.

It's kind of a one-two punch. It's telling most women "LOL your desires don't exist" and it's telling most men "LOL you will never be desired". Neither is exactly very nice.

Good mythical morning, indeed. And god, Link looks so much better without that shaggy mop for hair.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-13 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Seconding the Link love. Those blue eyes <3

Haven't seen this but I find them attractive, and I think the way they seem more invested in having fun or goofing on the idea amps the attraction up more than if it were more mainstream attractive guys doing this straight-faced.

op

I wasn't sure about replying to all of this but wow... so many people are missing the point. It's not about gender(where did you even get that?) or what they look like at all.

They're internet comedians and act silly all through the thing and THEY treat it as a joke but I find it sexier than most things that are actually made to be sexy.

Don't feel bad OP. Some people just aren't happy unless they can make a gender or sexuality STATEMENT! Bonus points if something can be blamed for all the world's social ills.

Funny guys. There were some hot moments definitely, but I think they were by mistake! Really good parody, it made me laugh!

Thanks for posting the link, op, I was too lazy to google them.

Thanks for linking that, I hadn't seen it before.

I agree with you, it was surprisingly sexy (and funny!).

I may have to google this. For research. So I can have an informed opinion.

But yeah, honestly, I think it's cool when it's reversed sometimes, both to show how ridiculous it can be when it's done with women (i.e. no, most people don't eat burgers like they're giving a blowjob), and also show men in an appealing light for women to enjoy.

I do think it should be "what's good for the goose is good for the gander." If you're going to have sexy stuff, let's not go into the realms of ridiculous...but if we do, let's do it for both! That seems fair, right?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-13 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
OH MY GOODNESS THAT WAS AMAZING <3 <3

Silly and sexy, the best combination!!! :D

I think they know exactly who their audience is. ;)

(Anonymous) 2016-05-13 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
I feel you, OP, I feel you. I've had kind of a low-grade crush on both Rhett and Link for ages, and that segment was like 'holy fuck when did they get so hot?!'

But I think they knew that it would be both slightly titillating and pretty hilarious. It's not like they're oblivious to the fact that tons of people find them really attractive. They do things all the time that are pretty much blatant (comedic) fanservice.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-13 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Well... they do say a sense of humor is an attractive quality ;)

(Anonymous) 2016-05-13 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Honestly, I don't see why everyone's creaming themselves over these guys. They're not that great?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-13 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think they're that funny, but Rhett is 'Hollywood leading man' hot.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-13 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
ok

(Anonymous) 2016-05-13 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
These are not ugly men. I'd like to see them more muscular but that's my taste. They're both sexy and I find wet clothing sexy on both men and women.
