She's recently been named in that big tax evasion scandal. Her spokespeople say it's because she used an offshore bank to maintain privacy during a property purchase. Must be nice, I guess.

See, I think that's valid. Given the harassment she faces today, taking drastic steps to protect her safety is not something i can really judge, if it's true.

Also, something else people are forgetting: As smart as she is, I don't think she cooked up this scheme herself. Her accountant was almost certainly responsible. He would have offered her a way to keep her money and identity safe, not explained the sketchiness of it, and she, not being a tax expert, would have agreed to it.
