Re: Assassin's Creed Trailer

I'm torn. On the one hand it could certainly look a lot worse, and it might be campy fun? On the other hand, the current-day scenes were a little wtf. Like the Animus needed to be changed from a creepy psychological horror table that ripped your mind to shreds until you can no longer tell who/when/where you are, into some kind of giant transformers robot tentacle arm? And some kind of weird Abstergo training room so he can learn to shoot arrows??? Because... ???

I'd had hopes they would have really done a lot with a Subject 16-ish setup. Gone full Jacob's Ladder horror mode like AC1/AC2.

I assume they change the Animus because watching someone lay on a table and make constipated faces does not make for good movie.

I was sort of right? From Fassbender: "“We just didn’t want to have something where I sit into a seat. Number one, we’ve seen it before in The Matrix. And it’s also just not a very dramatic experience when we’re doing the modern day version of the regression. We wanted to have something where the character is actually physically involved in it… “[Production designer] Andy [Nicholson] and Justin have really come up with something very interesting. Talking to Ubisoft, I think they are thinking perhaps of sort of adopting some of these ideas. But definitely just not have it not so much as Cal being a passenger in a chair, basically. We wanted to have something more interactive for that character in the present-day stuff.”"
