Maybe because he was cross dressing, nearly went for it and then got married instead?

I could see him quietly going back to being Bruce after I am Cait is cancelled. The guy is seriously confused but also a life long attention hound. Money and limelight could have been a powerful motivator to go through with some plastic surgery.

She is just experiencing the privilege bump down and taking it hard. Every adult-transitioning transwoman goes through. Look at her experiences with the Republican party, she came in saying she was this transambassador and going to help fly the flag for transfolks in the GOP, and then she was told to go use the men's toilets like the rest of the rabble and her opinion was worth shit. That is a hard thing for someone who was used to being listened to as a rich white dude to take, to be treated like not just an ordinary woman but then to be treated as being even less than a woman for rejecting the male privilege. Every adult transitioning transwoman has to suffer that piece of spiteful abusive revenge from her former sex, and then has to deal with no longer being the one listened to in the room when she is finally accepted as female.

You can see how someone coming from the level of privilege she came from could be scared back into the closet. She won't be the first and she definitely will not be the last.
