Yeah, seriously. Torchwood never had great writing, never had great plots. But it kind of had that atmosphere that made for a fun team show. Then the team started dying - very wtf, and then they killed Ianto or whatever his name was for NO reason (that was the DUMBEST plot point ever). They liked having dramatic death scenes and didn't seem to realize that when you kill everyone you leave no one left.

Way back right after COE aired it was 'cool' to make fun of people who were pissed at Ianto's death because they were clearly all 'desperate slash fans' but seriously, they go from 'We can't just walk in there and tell them to leave, they'll kill us!' to 'Well, let's just walk in there and tell them to leave.' in like... one episode. It's not just that the character died, it's that he died senselessly through an enormous plot hole/idiot ball.
