Re: Captain America: Civil War
It was just so long and I couldn't get into this plot of "goody guys solving problems by killing each other in long extended fight scenes". Even though I knew it was coming because comics (didn't enjoy that either, but possibly enjoyed it slightly more?).
The movies' overall tone was a lot more serious a lot more of the time? Like usually MCU is the nice superhero movies with bits of serious and minor internal goodguy conflict that gets resolved easily and then fun dramatic popcorn. I liked the Spiderman vs Bucky scene. Quite liked this Spiderman overall actually.
The whole splitting off exactly 50-50 into the two neat little teams neatly down the middle.
Antman. I just. Antman.
No-one really got to have a cool moment of awesome badassery IMO, but I think that lines up with the super-serious tone.
Man I'm just bummed out remembering my take of it. Someone take them all, shake them by the shoulders and tell them to sit down and work things out like grown adults.
And to be more careful with rampant building/car chase destruction!
Re: Captain America: Civil War
I think the reality is, Bucky's story is not a fun one.
I went with a friend who had not seen the other Caps yet, and her fav parts were the 'fun' parts, so it was interesting to see that perspective, cause i think it's like that for those who are not super invested in the characters.
Re: Captain America: Civil War
No Bucky's story is not a good or happy one. It's weird, it's the kind of content I love in fic but in a movie? It makes me care less and less about him each time (and by extension Cap, whom I don't like much in the first place because I find him boring. Sam's cool tho. Haven't decided on T'Challa yet. Antman is a no.)
Which is probably why I am drifting away. I am not usually a fan of long and depressing superhero storylines.
I'm not devastated over that btw (not my usual genre preference), just tired and a bit annoyed. I might stick to summaries and pop in for the final movie in the hopes it returns to fun togetherness explosions of defeating the bad guy with city wide havoc, awesome coordinated moves and loud music.
