I've never had a stereotypical cat in my life, and sitting on whatever you're working on is a valuable service they provide so you don't have to reach very far to pet them. All my cats have been super affectionate and playful. My feral-born boy is actually very needy and gets terribly dramatic when I won't sit down or won't sit the right way for him to cuddle me, lol.
