I got a canker sore on the inside of my bottom lip. It is in the most inconvenient spot because literally every time I open my mouth to talk or chew, my teeth rub against it.

Brush your teeth more often, cut tomatoes out of your diet for a while, and just dab a little bit of whisky or brandy on the sore to help it clear up.

Brush my teeth at least twice a day, don't eat tomatoes (gross), and I guess I can try and find some whisky. My boss might have a bit for me to dab.

I would not go with alcohol myself. A better home remedy is warm salt water rinse. Get a tube of oral benzocaine at the drugstore. And yes, as herpy says, look into clorhexidine rinse although you'll probably need a prescription.

I get those sometimes, but I brush my teeth twice a day and I never eat tomatoes? What am I doing wrong?

Sometimes stress or impacts can cause them.

Most people get these, and it's rarely a case of not brushing enough. They may develop when you get a small abrasion in the soft tissues of the mouth which triggers an immune response.

Various OTC rinses and medications are available, though if you get them regularly you may want to speak to your dentist about a clorhexidine rinse.

My partner gets them if she uses toothpaste with Sodium Laureth Sulfate. Worth considering changing toothpastes if you start getting them frequently.
