Sometimes the descriptions of movies that appear in the guide/info function on my cable service can be really funny and irreverent, mostly ignoring the actual plot of the movie because it's either something everyone has heard of or the person who wrote the blurb must have thought it was dumb. I can't think of any good examples of the really funny ones, though.

One example I can think of: while ago I was watching Nicholas and Alexandra on tv, I think on TCM, and the description on the info screen focused almost entirely on the fact that Tom Baker plays Rasputin in it. He's not the main character, though. I guess the person who wrote the blurb might have been a Doctor Who fan?

and the Rasputin part of the movie isn't even well-written. They can't even get his death scene right (one of the most notorious deaths in history!)
