Chewing gum. Singapore did it, so why can't we?

Because we can't stop chewing gum. They don't know the joy that brings us.

You don't know the misery that it brings me. When I step on it, and I can feel my shoe sticking to the pavement over and over. When I was in college and way too tall for those tiny deskchair things and my knees touched the underside of the desk and I could feel the gum sticking to my pants every time I moved my leg.

I don't get why people like it anyway. The flavor lasts for about five seconds, and then I have to find someplace to dispose of it because I'm not going to throw it on the ground or stick it in some random place. Because I'm not nasty.

Sorry gum brings you so much misery, anon. Gum under desks is freaking gross. I always just swallowed it if I couldn't find a place to throw it away.

Not getting why other people like it doesn't mean it should be banned. If your major issue is people leaving it in gross places, say that leaving it in gross places should be illegal.

I love sugar free gum, and my teeth are a lot happier when I chew it at least occasionally.

I like chewing gum. It helps curb my nail biting habit.

I like chewing gum because I have a tendency to clench my teeth without noticing it and chewing gum helps prevent that.

How about just a huge fine when anyone puts chewed gum anywhere but a designated trash receptacle?
