I've got respiratory issues. Asthma, an inexplicable tendency toward lung infections.

It's unpleasant, but doubly so when I visit the doctor about one of those infections, and am told just to use my inhalers more often. Like...I'm not good about getting to the doctor...by the time I decide it's a problem that's not going to pass, so I should see a doctor, I'm already using my Ventolin at least twice as much as the maximum. And it's even more annoying when I get this without even listening to my chest.

Bonus 'please, why aren't you listening to me?' moment - back in February, I was in the ER for what turned out to be flu-induced pneumonia. The Respiratory Therapist kept insisting I could blow harder when she was doing the flow meter. No, no I really could not.

I hate flow measurements! I can either blow as hard as I can or blow for as long as I can, but I can't do both. Make up your mind.

Ventolin is giving me the shakes so bad lately and not resolving my need to cough at all hours. I was supposed to have an asthma appointment/spirometry thingy today but I am too tired and dizzy to waste my air.

Damn lungs being so necessary.

I hope you get your infections sorted out properly soon! What a pain in the... chest.

Yeah, Ventolin is giving me the jitters, recently, too, but at least it's bloody working...so *hugs* to you on that front.

*hugs back*

It's not the worst inhaler I've ever had. Kudos to the purple inhaler for tasting like death and making me gag constantly.

Advair! Hah, I always liked Advair. I recently had to switch because my shitty state insurance decided they no longer wanted to pay for the good stuff, and my new inhaler...I'm not even joking, it smells like I'm huffing paint fumes. I'd take Advair's sickly-sweet powder over Turpetine And Death any day.

I'm not sure what it was and I don't know if the colours are the same for every country. I remember the brown inhaler was probably the best tasting when I was a kid which felt like a lie because that shade of brown is not a tasty colour. I had a whole drawer full of the damn things. I was collecting the plastic rainbow. I had white, red, light blue, teal blue, purple, pink, brown, grey, yellow.

Spacers are a lot smaller now, which is nice. My first one was the size and shape of a football!

Ventolin tastes like new plastic and failure to me.

Never thought of having asthma as a chronic illness or a disability. I just never thought of myself having one. Just picked up my prescription inhalers today and actually was happy about it because my family moved to a new city, new state and I have an official pharmacy now.
