To follow up a little more, Etrian Odyssey loves to populate dungeons with "F.OE."s, wandering monsters significantly more powerful than everything else on that floor. You're supposed to learn their movement patterns and sneak past them, but you can get some great crafting items if you manage to kill them. Supposedly, the acronym stands for something in Latin, but other interpretations include Freakishly Overpowered Encounter, Ferocious Orange Enemy, and Fucks Over Everything.
