Thhhhhhhhhhissssssssss.

My current fandom handled this really well--the missed chances and communication issues stem organically from the characters, and end of s3 (these are short seasons) there is the BEST subversion of the "dash to the airport to stop her from leaving" trope I've ever seen.

There are talks of both a movie and another series, and I am *terrified* that the writer's will fuck it up and create unnecessary obstacles for the sake of angst. And the thing is, with these characters there is a really obvious, true to the characters "out" if they feel the need. But really, you know what would be a novelty? The characters get together, it changes almost nothing on screen (they are already very intimate friends), and they create a functional relationship (I hold out hopes for a non-monogomous one, or at least not having that ruled out) because that's what they've decided they want.
