I completely agree with this comment.

One of the reasons I will probably never have kids is because I'm in a situation where I'd probably have to be a single parent, and I honestly wouldn't trust myself to handle it. I'm not a very patient person, and I can be kind of uptight, and I absolutely need a lot of alone time and quiet time to myself, so having to look after a young kid 24/7 would make me insane. I don't think I could ever be truly abusive to a child, but I'm pretty sure I could reach a point where I was being a harsh, neglectful, resentful parent - which is basically an emotional kind of abuse in its own right.
