Dry mouth is such an irritating sensation!
I have a little metal water bottle that clips on to my wheelchair. I think I'll get one that straps onto my frame soon but for now it just hangs. It's similar to this

and it's pretty light.
Maybe you could try that on a belt bag?

Modcloth has some really cute ones I've been eyeing off. I always lose my phone down the side of my chair or I drop it when I'm trying to transfer.

No, metal is definitely too heavy for my purposes. I just got one of these, because it looked so thin/light and even that's rather heavier than I'd like. It's only 1oz more than the horrible-flat-o-water-bottles but noticeably heavier.
