Canon tropes

Have at ye. When did your canon delve into something that's usually a fanfic staple? Some favorites from some of my fandoms:

Person of Interest has canon Accidental Baby Aquisition
The Next Generation has canon de-aging
SG-1 has canon bodyswapping

Buffy has a lot of things that are popular as fanfic tropes. It sort of makes me curious about where they all originate from.

I'm real excited for this next One Piece arc, which is simultaneously stop the wedding AND shrink down to go into the body!!

These are ones I really associate with fanfic.

NCIS had Undercover as Lovers, so did Scarecrow & Mrs. King.
Star Trek: Voyager had a couple different versions of a biological imperative to copulate (Threshold and Blood Fever).
Hawaii Five-0 had trapped in a small dangerous space with the potential of dying (in this case a building that just been destroyed by a bomb and is unstable), with declarations and everything.

Red Dwarf has everything! It's always my go to when people are discussing fanfic tropes. Perhaps owing to the fact that the show is a science fiction based sitcom many episode play like the greatest of crack-fic stories.

Red Dwarf has several canon AUs (Western/Genderswap/etc), time travel, both good and evil doppelgangers, a whole episode dedicated to bodyswapping, the two main male characters share a romantic on-screen kiss and it even has a canon m-preg after one of the main characters sleeps with his female counterpart in an alternate universe - he later gives birth to twins. I don't think there are many shows that can beat that.
