Lord of the Rings - Hobbits from outsider POV?
(Anonymous) 2016-05-18 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)So I was wondering if anyone had recs for fics that are a lot about hobbits, but the main/POV characters are non-hobbit characters? Humans, elves, dwarves, whatever.

This one is Boromir's perspective on the hobbits during the Fellowship of the Ring books, and it's incredibly funny and poignant by turns. I just love to re-read it. It's one of those fics where you can just read as much as you want and stop in the middle whenever you like because the chapters are just loosely connected little set pieces. My favorite chapter is the one set in Moria.

Celeborn, Glorfindel, Elladan and Elrohir are getting melancholy and lonely what with the elves slowly all leaving Middle Earth, and decide to go visit the Shire and the hobbits they met during the war of the ring. I just really like the tone of this story, the contrasts between the hobbits and the elves, the emphasis on elves' more eccentric and nutty traits, and the elves' povs.
