I mean, the cats in general get tossed into Dark or Normal. A couple "big cats" (what few there are) have gotten other types - Litleo had fire, Shinx had Lightning. And Espurr has Psychic (as well as Mew, if you count it as a cat). But there are so many types and the designers seem to generally shove the cat designs in the same Dark or Normal categories.

Pyroar is Normal as well as Fire though, so it fits the pattern.

Adding to this, Espurr's line is the only "housecat" pokemon that's not normal or dark (being based on a Scottish fold).

I'm personally just hoping Litten's line isn't 4x weak to something (if it happened to be half rock or ground it would get annihilated by water and would make it horrible for competitive).
