What's something you tried out from having read about it online and it just failed on you? Kind of like Pinterest fails or failed life hacks.

I tried making those chalkboard sugar cookies I see sometimes and the cookies were fine, but I couldn't find anything that would get that chalk-like look over the black icing. I tried a bunch of different things but it all ended up doing nothing or looking really smudgy. I even tried non-toxic chalk, but nothing wanted to write on that stupid icing.

Cleaning a burnt pan with baking soda and vinegar. It was one of those really expensive enameled cast iron le creuset dutch ovens, and I was trying to make sesame halvah, and, well... the sad thing is I've used baking soda and water before to rescue these pans and it's always worked, but no dice this time. I even chipped the damn enamel trying to pry this shit off. I may just boil water in it until I can't taste anything burnt and keep using the pan, charcoal bottom and all.
