I was really frustrated with all the Surfing in Hoenn, and the islands weren't the bulk of Hoenn. I love Hoenn but I thought that part was pretty annoying. However making the entire region an island chain would actually be really cool (though I don't think it will be, didn't they already release a drawing of the region as one island?). I'd love it if they made traveling between islands a bit less of a pain (what if you could drive your own little speedboat? :D) and made it possible to explore little coves and stuff, that'd be fun.
