Apparently some blogger "@amandalauren" wrote an article for XOJane about how her friend was better off dead because her life was such a waste due to her mental illness. The article has since been taken down, from the looks of it, but from the comments and other articles I've read, it was pretty awful.

Although I can't help but notice that of course her blog and twitter account are getting attention, and wonder if she even cares about the backlash, or if she's just glad she got noticed. :/

I'd need to read the article, tbh.

Honestly, in my darkest moments, I absolutely do thing I'd have been better off dead years ago. I'd have preferred not being born at all. (though it would be creepier if a friend said it).

Amanda Lauren has a long history of self-absorbed, intentionally controversial articles. This is par for the course from her.

AYRT - Yeah, I googled her and it does seem to be the case. It definitely affirms my belief that she's doing this for attention; she's basically a shock blogger.

I know. From the looks of it she's kind of a "shock jock", so there's some chance she didn't really mean it and just knew it would get her the controversial attention she wanted*, but even if she didn't mean it, just to say it alone is horrible.

*And you have to admit, it worked like a charm. She had another controversial article this week too.
