Your interpretation of seeing it as rapey is valid.. However, the interpretation of infidelity is equally valid. But in this entire thread, you have stubbornly proclaimed your interpretation as the only one and said anyone who does not see it that way is "reaching".

When someone explains to me how infidelity is a valid interpretation other than "because I say so" I'll consider it so.

Try reading comprehension, it goes a long way in life.

Again, referencing to marriage (papers), making a relationship official, and that not being what the woiman should be going for.

Again, referencing to the other man, the presumed fiancé.

"was" and "tried" are past tense, meaning the relationship is not current.

"Liberate" can also mean "liberate you from from your idea of romance"

"You don't need no papers" meaning "you don't need to be married to have sex"

"That man is not your maker" meaning "that past relationship isn't what you really wanted or you would still be in it"

You could also read it that way, it's not an exact science. But the "was" in the first sentence can just mean he was close to domesticating her, not that the relationship is not actually current.

I guess. I have a really hard time seeing it about infidelity when the question of whether there's even a current relationship is that ambiguous.

And yet you see "rapey" in it, when there's none of that in the text. Or do you consider "rape" to mean "extramarital sex"?
