Re: Dog is Sick, Need Advice (TMI)

Look up emergency vet clinics, and/or call local vet's offices and see if they give an after-hours emergency number as a part of their voicemail recording. If so, take dog to emergency clinic and/or call emergency vet number.

If there's absolutely nowhere within range that you can take the dog tonight, google the route from your home to the medical center, and print out the directions and map. Send the rest of your family to the medical center with said directions and map, and take your dog to the vet. If your family leaves early, they'll have time to stop and ask for directions if they get lost.

Or teach someone else how to work the GPS. They're not that hard to handle, particularly if you input the address of the medical center ahead of time, so all anyone has to do is turn it on and tell it to start giving directions.
