I have to agree. If a person wishes to end a discussion, they should just end it. Insisting that someone stop replying to you or engaging with your comments is absurd as well as ineffective. Some of the comments LD requested to be frozen weren't trolling or even uncivil, they were merely disagreeing with her point of view. Requesting that own comment replies are frozen before anyone's even replied is even more entitled, since it basically means LD gets her say, but wants to preemptively block anyone else from having theirs. Dissension is the price one pays for participating in public discussion, and if LD doesn't want that, she can choose not to continue. Instead, she chose to keep engaging her anon commenters/trolls and then blaming them for responding to her!

Case, your policy of freezing comments to cut a troll off at the pass has usually been very judicious, but I think it sets a bad precedence to give one user the power to derail the discussion anytime someone doesn't see things her way.
