I don't understand this comment in relation to the secret.

I'm not sure I see anything creepy with someone finding their loved one beautiful when they sleep. The EdwardBella thing was creepy because it wasn't someone sharing a bed with their lover and watching them sleep, it was breaking into their home to watch them sleep...

Probably the thing that drove home how creepy those songs are was when one of those "You're beautiful (because) you have no idea that you're beautiful" songs came on, and then it was followed immediately by I'm Sexy And I Know It.

I couldn't tell if the DJ was oblivious or knew full well what they were doing and they were being really salty about it.

i think the DJ had a sense of humor

Matty's voice was great on this album, and the beats were so smooth, but the lyrics were a bit worse this time around as a whole. The last album had slightly worse music, at times it was even hard to hear what Matty was singing, but some amazing lyrics.

However, he was suffering a huge breakdown while they were being written and it came to him breaking down on stage and saying he didn't deserve any praise or love in December 2014. 3 years of non-stop touring + a death in the family and a broken relationships and him getting back on drugs really fucked him up. I don't really blame his songs suffering if he was having such a hard time.

As for it being creepy, not really? I mean if you wake up before your partner are you supposed to rush out and NEVER LOOK AT THEM or find them beautiful? I find that more creepy than just finding your partner cute when they happen to be sleeping.

matty talked about how he + the band wanted to make a "truthful" album, because they were noticing with all the limelight they felt pressured more and more to act in certain ways and say certain things. he said the title just came from something he said to his girlfriend once, though he pretty much says he knows it comes off as pretentious. ("Like all situations, I'm sure it wasn't quite as poetic as it sounds.")

on a personal level, i hate the title too. but in the context of "i know it's kind of dumb but hey, i like it and we're really trying to preserve our honesty" i don't mind it.

also: take this completely with a grain of salt because i can't find where i heard this, and i don't know if it's true, but someone suggested it was intended it to be sarcastic? i suppose as an insult to his girlfriend's vanity, or suggesting he can't stand to be around her when she's awake anymore. whether that's true or not though, i lol'd
