Uptown Girl by Westlife and Take on me by A1 are the most pointless covers I've ever heard. They simply sound about the same but worse.

Every cover song that basically just sounds like another singer went to a karaoke bar and tried to imitate the original song as closely as possible (only for it to sound worse, usually).
I think those kinds of covers are massively superfluous, lazy and boring and should never be made.(Example: The Ronan Keating version of Iris.)

That version of Cyndi Lauper's 'True Colors' currently playing on that one TV commercial. I don't even know what the fuck they're advertising, I hate that version of the song so much I have to change the channel or leave the room hen it comes on. It sounds like a senile ladybug is singing it.

Dove Cameron's cover of Genie in a Bottle. I heard it in a store one day (I had to look up who the singer was later) and it's just so pointlessly meh, some of the lyrics were changed because Disney channel but beyond that to me it just sounds like the exact same song done by someone less talented than Christina Aguilera.
