I'm trying to figure out how to place Harold Finch in or out of that list. He definitely meets a lot of those criteria - white, a little prissy, gay coded - but I'm definitely offended on his behalf, just re: his character growth.

But I think that's op's point. Characters can be 'stereotypes', as long as they have the depth to go along with it.
