AYRT - I definitely think there needs to be a balance. I mean, politics and wars are important - we need to know. But I'd like to know more about the everyday.

OTOH, the reason we don't know much is partly bias, but also the simple fact that the people who wrote history were the royal/political figures and the generals of those wars.
