I was raised Catholic and I don't care about this cultural appropriation, LOL. And neither does Madonna. Hey, goths.

Though I'm not sure if a cross would work against vampires if you didn't believe in it as a symbol of God. Maybe it would work if the vampire feared it in any case.

Depends on the universe.

Sometimes it's the user's faith (ex: Marvel universe), sometimes it's the vampire's faith (Fearless Vampire Killers), sometimes neither matters, and either the cross works regardless (Buffy), or never works at all (Twilight).

Also, people who wear christian crosses aren't criminals if they aren't christian, but they are massive fucking assholes. Of course someone's going to assume you're a christian if you're wearing that, so you being a massive fucking asshole about it if someone asks is all on you. It's like running around dressed as a hasidic jew and then getting angry at someone if they invite you to temple T_T
