All of them. Every single argument for why the fans are justified is batshit crazy. The latest one is "I'd stop shipping [RPF] if I thought it made them uncomfortable."

The RP: Guys, please don't tag us in your Tumblr fics. We don't want to see that.

Fans: IF THEY DIDN'T WANT US TO SHIP THEM, THEY WOULDN'T BE CELEBRITIES GOSH

Best behaved RPF fans I've ever seen are in the Roosterteeth fandom. They only write fics about the RT members who are cool with it and they never have fics including the people's kids.

As Homer Simpson once said "If celebrities didn't want people going through their trash and saying they're gay, they shouldn't have tried to express themselves creatively!" Depressing that so many people seem to have taken that as a life motto rather than a joke.

What really freaks me out about RPF now, is that before fans seemed to see it as fiction and treat the celebrities just like any other character with character traits, etc. These days people seem certain that all RPF is actual fact. *shudder*

Remember the days when rule number one of the internet was to not alert actors of your rpf? I miss those days.
