The Callahan books are great. I love them so much. They made me so happy.

Yeah, I swear, Spider Robinson single-handedly taught Tiny Us how to be a human with his books. I will forever owe that man a debt for introducing so many necessary concepts to us in elementary school. When we first started reading Callahan, we were totally boggled by it, and then were like, "this is the kind of person I want to be."

Right? I also think that Callahan is the clearest answer to those people who think all heroes have to be gritty and if characters aren't miserable assholes it's boring. Guess what, all the Callahan stories were adorable and made me super happy, and I reread them tons of times.

Yeah, seriously. I love those books because they actually deal with questions like, "When you have done something unforgivable, what next?" Those stories always comfort me whenever times are bad; I read the fuck out of them when I was homeless.
