Do you have any fandom friends living in any of those places that you'd like to meet? When I did solo traveling it was often to visit people I wouldn't otherwise get to see. I've gotten to meet quite a few Internet people that way, and some also visited me when I lived in New York. Sometimes we hosted each other too, that was pretty fun and convenient. It's always better to be in a new place with a local or two to show you around.
