I mean, your first mistake was reading & becoming emotionally invested in Maggie Stiefvater's writing.

This. Know when to let an author go, bruh.

I lol'd.

'The Scorpio Races' was good though. I think she can stand alone books, but her series suck.

I just started reading The Scorpio Races and I'm surprised how not annoying I think it is. Like Puck and and Sean are bearable characters. I feel invested in the plot. It's a little bit boring, but still a solid read.

The only other book's I've read from her was the Shiver trilogy and I ended up hating everything except the actual supernatural bit. I think it was a genuinely neat and original idea for the people to turn into actual wolves with the temperature change.

The Scorpio Races is a slow burn, and I liked that about it. It didn't feel rushed, and the writing was lovely instead of pretentious and overdone.

I liked the first book in the Shiver trilogy, and hated the other two. That ending ticked me off so much.

The first book was the most tolerable out of the three, but I just had such an immediate dislike for Grace. She was so unsympathetic to Jack's death and than that bit where she is looking at the pictures Olivia took and was pretending interest in them while only really caring about the pictures of ~her wolf. She was so unlikable right at the start, and none of her actions after made her any more sympathetic.

I never made it to the end of the series (only 2/3 of the way through the second book), how does it end?

It ended with M.S. getting tired of writing it and so she just stopped. There was no resolution whatsoever.

Grace was annoying, but her parents ticked me off more. Who the hell ignores their kid for 16 years and then suddenly decides to meddle in her life like that? And Sam was...not the worst, but the 'lovely summer girl' thing got old and he was too emo.

I was also ticked that Shelby didn't get more of a chance to shine. She could have been interesting.
