I'm not surrendering to mortality. I'm going down fighting and taking any medication they come up with to extend my life. That is basically the plot, she's fighting to ensure her medication is not withdrawn. DO you support ending medication for the elderly? By your logic, you kinda do.

[personal profile] lady_dragoon 2016-05-22 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
What medication do we have currently that will enable you to live to 400 years old?

No, I don't support ending medication for the elderly. But that's not what this is, at all. The magic flower isn't medication. It's not something used to correct a specific medical ailment. The flower reverses aging temporarily. The day we have a medicine that can do that is the day we all become mad gods and get wiped out by a meteorite because we've become too powerful.

Again, you're being way too dramatic. Just because there's a medication, or a hypothetical one here, that would extend lives doesn't mean it'll work on everyone nor turn us all into Zeus. Also, you know very well we don't have a medication that does that. Don't change anon's words. They very clearly said that when or if it happens then they'll take advantage of the situation.

I'm being dramatic to point out exactly how stupid anon's analogy is.

uhhhhh

there's a difference between the elderly using medication for whatever purpose -- sure, let's say extension of life -- and kidnapping a child for said purpose

so do you support kidnapping children? by your logic you kinda do

(Anonymous) 2016-05-22 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd be good with that. They could prove to be a handy source of stem cells and bone marrow, be a shame to waste them.

[personal profile] lady_dragoon 2016-05-22 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, at least this is some creative trolling, I guess.

3/10 i was pretty sure you were a troll and you didn't disappoint but you could've strung me along a little further

(Anonymous) 2016-05-22 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, you were the one who started talking about abducting kids. Obviously you expected for me to deny it and try and rationalize a way that would suit your own trolling. I'm not going to play that game, so screw I just gave you the OTT answer that doesn't play into your own game. Yeah, I think that withdrawing medication which prevents someone from dying is a horrible thing whether that person is 4 or 400. That is what this situation was.

okay 4/10 your self-righteous indignation (while completely ignoring the fact that we are literally talking about a movie where a woman kidnaps a child to prolong her own life) is pretty funny

[personal profile] lady_dragoon 2016-05-22 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Except that has nothing to do with the movie. The flower was not medicine. Gothel was not ill when she discovered it. Just old.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-22 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Dudette, Doctors prescribe preventative medications all the time. It was still a medication.

[personal profile] lady_dragoon 2016-05-22 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
What specific medical problem did Gothel have that the flower was addressing?
comma_chameleon: (Jin is usually invalid.)

[personal profile] comma_chameleon 2016-05-22 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't the flower more of a... reversal of symptoms rather than a preventative measure? I can't remember if she was already old when she found it.

Go be an SJW somewhere else. How do you even survive on F!S??? You sound like the people who insist a TV show creator is a pedophile just because he admits he has no power to stop people from making porn of underage characters.

[personal profile] lady_dragoon 2016-05-22 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
...Calling Dethtoll of all people an SJW is the best laugh I've had all month.

You little anons can never make up your mind, can you? Am I a fedora-tipping 100% Okcupid Enemy MRA Neckbeard Shitlord or a screaming hysterical SJW namby-pamby Cultural Marxist? Which is it?
lb_lee: The Blue Beetle, Ted Kord, doubled over laughing. (bwa-hah-ha)

You're both, dethtoll. Apparently we aren't the only multi on the comm, you're like some kind of eldritch tumblr Jekyll and Hyde.

I do if the medication is sentient and didn't give consent to have their life dedicated to being someone's medicine

(Anonymous) 2016-05-22 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You really cannot grasp how poor of an analogy this is, can you...
