The Simpsons has a lot of heartfelt moments. The one that makes me tear up is the episode where Lisa feels sad and Marge tells her that if she wants to be sad, then be sad and they would ride it out with her. I always wished somebody would say that to me.

I love that moment too.

I teared up when I saw this moment years and years ago too! I could have written this secret in my sleep.

Also agreed with the "Do It For Her" scene - I kinda wish it hadn't been turned into a meme because the overexposure kind of ruins the impact of the original scene.

I liked this scene a lot too, but I loved their relationship in general and while seeing them bicker with each other like siblings do was fun I always appreciated seeing the moments where it's shown that while they do irritate the bajeebus out of each other they love each other very much too.

"Do it for her" and Lisa reading the note that said "You are Lisa Simpson" got me.

Man, I haven't watched or thought about the Simpsons in AAAAAGES. It did have its touching moments, for sure--I seem to recall being moved by the episode where Homer meets his mom, even though I remember precious little else.

As a little sister to a big brother, this scene totally got me right in the feels.

The song from "Mother Simpson" always get me to tears.

I recently got the new Comcast X1 thing and I found out I can watch the entire series of the Simpsons On Demand. The only drawback is I can't fast forward through the commercials, but it hasn't annoyed me enough to stop watching the show when I find time to sit through a few eps at a time. I'm currently on season 8, and TBQH I think season 8 is starting to show signs of The Simpsons show runners/writers wanting to do something different. Most of the episodes still have a nice narrative of how even though the Simpsons are dysfunctional they still love each other a lot, but the outlandish stories are starting to seem to overtake the flow of the episodes. I don't know if that makes sense.

I still have a lot of seasons to go through, and I'm still really enjoying the show, but I worry that soon enough I will reach a season or number of episodes where watching it seems to become a chore.

I don't quite remember when I stopped watching the show. It just kind of happened without me realizing it much, so I'm sure around the teen seasons was when I stopped watching the show regularly. I have heard that in the more recent seasons the show has become pretty good again, but I do wonder how "bad" the "bad" seasons are.

The one that gets me is Marge Be Not Proud, when Marge thinks Bart shoplifted because she mothers him too much and so doesn't tuck him in at night. :*( Also the one where Bart thinks he's sold his soul and Lisa gives it back to him.

Which scene is this? I've probably seen it but can't recall ...

I really liked the ending of the episode where Lisa is impressing hipsters at a beach.
