I just asked the same thing. My guess is sports fandom (as suggested) or bandom or something otherwise "cool" to care about, as opposed to lke, totally nerdy things like Doctor Who. *Hair flip*

To which I'd point out that there's people who would laugh at being obsessed over bands and sports.

I was thinking TV dramas, crime shows, that kind of thing. "Grown up" media. But then Hannibal is the biggest pile of nerd shit there is.
