This actually doesn't surprise me in the least. If anything, it confirms my suspicions based on some comments I've seen in the past. ("Why are you so obsessed with that, weirdo?" is a BIT of a giveaway.)

However, aren't all fandoms geeky/nerdy? Unless you're in bandom, maybe...

Bandom is still nerdy, though, because you have to spend hours reading about banal shit like someone's personal history to be a TRUFAN.

You're practically a historian, albeit a historian who specializes in relatively unimportant shit.

There are some bandom and sports fandom people that are way nerdier than I am in their fandoms, and I have been in some way nerdy fandoms.
