Novelty factor maybe? Women outside the norm are more attractive BECAUSE they're outside the norm?

I could buy that.

On the other hand it could be because there's profit to be made from selling people shit to "fix" themselves, and telling the majority that they're the ones who need to be "fixed" = maximum profit.

I mean, I can't imagine how you could rationally justify shorter labia minora being "objectively" more aesthetically appealing/sexually enticing that wouldn't be utterly tainted by the effect the commercial porn industry has had on shaping those perceptions.

So, yeah, novelty or to sell shit.

Well you know, when it comes to porn, I wonder if a lot of it might be about high visibility. If you have a model who's clean-shaven and has short labia, it's super easy to see the clit/clitoral hood and vaginal opening from many different angles and distances.

Oh yeah I don't doubt that's how it started in porn, but the result isn't women going "I wish my labia were shorter so I could see my clitoris more clearly" it's women going "I wish my labia were shorter because long labia are ugly" perpetuated by the standards in porn. I have - legit - heard young men say they think labia minora that extend beyond the majora are "rare" and "something only gross old women/black women have" because this is all they've ever seen.

Oh yeah, that's definitely the result and it's definitely a problem. I was just speculating about origins.
